Music holds a special place in everyone’s heart and plays an important role in keeping us healthy.
Many studies have shown that music releases a chemical in our brains called dopamine, which has a positive effect on our mood. Some studies have even concluded that music can reduce stress, lessen anxiety, ease pain and improve cognition.
We run a free, weekly session on a Monday morning dedicated to all things music. Everyone is welcome, and you do not need to have any music ability, just a love of a good song!
On January the 27th, Anthony Powell will join us on his Keyboard for a lively and upbeat sing-a-long session which is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
On February the 3rd the local school will be joining us to perform songs from the hit musical “Oliver”. They will also be selling tickets to their performance of the musical. Please come along and show these talented young people your support!
Local singing group “The Teigns” will join us again on the 17th of February for another session of great songs from across the decades.
The very talented pianist and singer Jo Collet will be joining us on Monday the 24th of February, and invites you all to come and join in with some songs from time gone by.
