General Manager, Peta Howell
Peta joined the staff of the Alice Cross in 2022, after volunteering here for 7 years. She was appointed to the role of General manager in January 2025.

Many of you will already know Peta, she has worked in the office doing our marketing administration for the last 3 years. She started at the Alice Cross Centre 10 years ago as a volunteer and is really passionate about the charity, and her local community.
“I am really excited to step in to the role of General Manager at the Alice Cross Centre. The Alice Cross Centre has been a big part of life over the last 10 years, having started here as a volunteer under the guidance of Julia Street and eventually joining the staff 3 years ago when Jackie O Brien was the manager here. I truly believe in the work the Alice Cross centre does and know first hand how important an asset it is to Teignmouth. There are some challenges ahead, and it’s really important that we continue the fundraising efforts of the last few months in order to secure the future of this amazing, vibrant, community hub”.

Centre Co-ordinator, Alison Fenton

Alison is the go to person if you need to know what’s going on at The Alice, as she schedules all the events and bookings. She co-ordinates our meal services and bookings and also does all our finance, so she wears many hats in a typical day.
We don’t know what we would do without her!
Volunteer Co-ordinator, Yvonne Lamond

Yvonne works closely with our volunteers to ensure they have the best possible experience in their volunteering roles. She works with the volunteer teams to schedule their shifts and provide the information required. She is wonderfully creative and gets the volunteers involved in our community projects, such as the carnival, Pride and the flower festival.
Yvonne is a lot of fun and her positive and up beat nature rubs off on everybody.
Kitchen Manager and Head Chef, Dave Cook

We are very lucky to have such an accomplished chef as Dave on our team. His delicious food is at the heart of all our services and events and we are building a great reputation for our “foodie” events. He works with the support of our wonderful volunteers and brings his expertise to teach them new skills in the kitchen.
Dave has a wonderful sense of humour and makes us all smile every day!
Project Worker, Sue Yates

Sue is the project lead for our Memory Cafe and is trained in Dementia Awareness. She is wonderful with all the guests that attend every week and makes sure that each week’s activities are interesting and stimulate memories and feelings that are beneficial for each person. We often have entertainment and the atmosphere is always upbeat and joyful.
Sue also teaches Digital Skills, enabling older people to navigate I.T. and learning for example, how to set up their phones and ipads. She teaches them skills that make their lives easier and enables them to feel connected!
