Volunteer for us

The Alice Cross Centre is looking for Volunteers, Volunteers are our most important asset and at the heart of everything we do.

Could you spare an hour or two to help a local Charity?  we have opportunities to suit all types of roles.

Some of our current roles are – 

Meal Delivery Drivers

We deliver hot food to people homes 3 days a week between 12- 1pm, Mondays, Thursdays and Friday or Sundays.

All addresses are in Teignmouth and we have routes to suit delivery by car or by foot. we would need you to help from 11.30- 1pm.

Talk and Walk Volunteers

Since Lockdown many people are less mobile and now things are feeling a little more ‘Normal’ we are helping to support individuals to improve fitness or confidence in getting out and about more. could you spare an hour a week to go for a walk or even a coffee with someone?

Social media and our Website

Are you good with Technology, Could you help us get our word out to the community Via our Website and Social media? we struggle to find the time to update our website and Social media of all the fun and exciting events and activities we are involved with. Can you spare some time to help? or even to give us some tips and tricks to make what we do more effective? We would love to hear from you!

A little bit about us and our Volunteers-

The Alice Cross centre is a vibrant, active community centre focusing health and well-being. Our mission is to Support the community by making later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

We are a small Teignmouth based charity who rely on the hard work of our amazing volunteers and the support of local fundraisers.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team, and we have a variety of volunteering opportunities to suit all skills and abilities.  These opportunities include Working in our bar/coffee shop, Meeting and Greeting, Serving lunches, driving, Office administration, fundraising, IT skills, Kitchen help (Cooking and preparing food, helping with washing up), running events and activities, helping at tabletop sales. If you have a skill, then we have a role to match!

You can volunteer for as many or as few hours as suits you. The centre is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 2pm; however, we do hold and take part in events out of these hours.
