There’s a new blonde in town! Our Dolly Parton scarecrow is getting ready for Scarecrow Day, and we can’t wait to bring a little sparkle, plenty of laughter and some Alice Cross magic to Teignmouth Triangle on 31st October.
Why Dolly? Behind the big hair, fabulous outfits and unforgettable songs, we see warmth, generosity and a wonderful ability to bring people together. Dolly reminds us that you can take caring for others seriously while still having plenty of fun along the way.

That’s a spirit we recognise at the Alice Cross Centre.
Every day, we bring people together through good food, friendship, movement, support and opportunities to try something new. Whether someone joins us for lunch, comes along to a class, volunteers their time or simply needs a friendly face, we want them to feel welcome, valued and part of their community.

Our Dolly represents that welcoming spirit, with an extra helping of sparkle! She’s a celebration of kindness, creativity and being yourself. We think we could all “be more dolly”: spread a little joy, look out for one another and make room for everyone.
We’ve loved working together with the local traders, The Makery and the Scarecrow Committee. It’s been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and imagination going into a day that celebrates our town and the people who make it special.
And on the day itself? Expect human fruit machine madness, Zumba and much, much more! Come ready to have a laugh, join in and discover what we’ve been creating.
It’s all in aid of the Alice Cross Centre and The Makery, helping support the community, connection and creativity that bring us together.
Come and find us in Teignmouth Triangle on 31st October. Bring your friends, bring the family and help us make it a day to remember.
Dolly wouldn’t want you to miss the fun…and neither would we!
