Teignmouth Science Café is a forum for promoting public engagement with Science. As of February 2025 – our 14th anniversary – we will be holding sessions at the Alice Cross Centre on the last Sunday of the month. This will be our 130th science café – you can see a complete list of presenters and the extraordinary range of topics covered here.
The Alice Cross will be open from 6.15pm to serve hot meals. There is no need to book for this. Menu options will be available closer to the date. Our licenced bar will be open selling a range of Alcohol and Non-alcoholic beverages as well as hot drinks and cakes.
There are enough seats for everyone, however we cannot guarantee you a table on the night. We suggest you arrive early to get a table with your friends. Otherwise, do share a table with stranger and make some friends!
Although this is a free event, we do have capacity limits for our hall and want to ensure everyone has the best possible experience. If you find that you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing info@thealicecross.co.uk so we can offer your tickets to others on our waiting list. This helps us make sure no spaces go unused and gives everyone a fair chance to participate in this event.
The Alice Cross Centre is located at 1-3 Bitton Park Road, TQ14 9BT. We are next to the hairdressers (Big neon sign – you cant miss them!). There is a small parking forecourt which is reserved for volunteers. Parking is FREE after 6pm at Teign Street Car Park (Behind the Blue Anchor Pub). There is an underpass you can walk through to get to the library and we are just round the corner – about a 2 minute walk from the carpark!
