Thank You Councillor Steve Horner for Supporting The Alice Cross Centre!
We are delighted to say thank you to Steve Horner, Teignmouth West Councillor, for his generous £400 contribution from his councillors fund towards our furniture fund!
The Alice believes everyone deserves a welcoming, comfortable and friendly place to come together. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious lunch, joining an activity, meeting friends or simply having a chat over a cup of tea, our Centre is a place where friendships are made and our community comes together.

Our £10,000 Furniture Fund Appeal
We’re on a mission to raise £10,000 to replace our ageing tables and chairs and give our much-loved community centre a much-needed furniture refresh!
Our existing furniture has certainly earned its retirement! After years of supporting countless lunches, activities, celebrations and community gatherings, many of our tables and chairs are now showing their age. Some are breaking, while others are extremely heavy and difficult for our staff and volunteers to move safely.
With hundreds of people using the Centre each week, we need furniture that is not only comfortable and welcoming but also safe, lightweight, durable and easy to move, allowing us to adapt our spaces for the wide variety of activities we offer.
Our £10,000 appeal will help us invest in new tables and chairs that will serve our community for many years to come.
Every Contribution Makes a Difference

Steve’s wonderful £400 contribution brings us another step closer to our fundraising target, and we are incredibly grateful for his support.
As a local charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, organisations and community supporters who recognise the importance of having a thriving community hub right here in Teignmouth.
Support like this really does make a difference, helping us maintain a safe, accessible and welcoming space where people can connect, make friends and enjoy everything the Centre has to offer.
Can You Help Us Reach £10,000?
We would love to hear from local businesses, organisations and individuals who might be able to support our Furniture Fund. Whether it’s a donation, a fundraising event or simply helping us spread the word, every contribution brings us closer to our goal.
After all, our tables and chairs might be ready for retirement, but our community spirit certainly isn’t!
The Alice Cross Centre says: Thank you, Steve!
