Thank You to The Norman Family Trust for Supporting Men’s Wellbeing
We are incredibly grateful to The Norman Family Trust for their generous grant of £2,000, which will sustain our much-loved Men’s Brew and Chat group at The Alice Cross Centre throughout the coming year. This vital support ensures that the group can continue to provide a welcoming, relaxed and supportive space for local men to come together, connect and enjoy each other’s company.
About the Men’s Chat and Brew Group
Our Men’s Chat and Brew group runs every Friday from 10am to 12pm and offers a friendly, informal environment where men can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, share stories, and build meaningful friendships. For many attendees, it has become a valued part of their weekly routine. We sometimes have guest speakers are planning more trips out to local points of interest in the coming year.

The group plays an important role in:
· Reducing loneliness and social isolation
· Supporting positive and physical mental wellbeing
· Encouraging open conversation and peer support
· Creating a sense of belonging within the community
Some men attend simply for a chat and a laugh, while others find comfort in talking through life’s challenges with people who understand. What unites everyone is the sense of camaraderie and mutual respect that defines the group. We always offer refreshments including healthy options. The group is self-directed in that the agenda is formed by the members with a volunteer facilitator from the Alice Cross Centre.
Making a Real Difference
Thanks to the Norman Family Trust’s generosity, we can continue to cover essential running costs and keep the group accessible to those who benefit most. Their support helps us maintain a consistent, safe and welcoming space where men feel comfortable connecting with others, talking about subjects and issues that they might not otherwise feel able to discuss.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Trustees of The Norman Family Trust for their continued support and belief in the importance of community-based wellbeing initiatives. Their contribution will make a lasting difference to the lives of the men who attend our group. Our current group members come from a variety of backgrounds and ages. This new funding will help us to keep going, and help us reach out to other local men who might like to spend their Friday mornings with our friendly group.
