Join us for a truly inspiring afternoon as we welcome Dan and Babs Izzett, volunteer speakers for The Leprosy Mission, who will share their remarkable life story.
Dan and Babs have spent decades raising awareness of leprosy and supporting people affected by the disease around the world. Their journey is one of extraordinary resilience, unwavering faith, and a determination to turn personal adversity into a force for good.
Dan was diagnosed with leprosy in the early 1970s and has lived with the lasting effects of the disease ever since, including the loss of sensation in his hands and feet and the amputation of part of his leg. Alongside his wife Babs, he has dedicated his life to helping others understand the realities of leprosy and challenging the stigma that still surrounds it today.
Through their work with The Leprosy Mission, Dan and Babs have travelled extensively, sharing their experiences and helping to raise vital funds and awareness for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Their story is both moving and uplifting, offering powerful insights into compassion, perseverance, faith and the human spirit.
