Christmas is often described as the most wonderful time of the year — a season of warmth, family, laughter, and shared meals. But for many people in our community, Christmas Day can also be one of the loneliest days of the year. Each year, we open our doors to change that and 2025 was no exception. Once again we were blown away by the generosity of our community.
On Christmas Day, our community opened its heart and its doors to serve and deliver Christmas dinners to people who would otherwise have spent the day alone. Christmas morning saw volunteers arriving with smiles, aprons, and an incredible willingness to give their time. Kitchens were filled with the comforting smells of Christmas dinner being prepared with care. Tables were laid, meals were packed, and delivery routes planned, and Bags of Joy packed — all with one shared goal: to make sure no one felt forgotten on Christmas Day.
For those who joined us in person, a warm welcome greeted them at the door as they entered the hall that was filled with conversation, laughter, and genuine connection.
For those who received a delivery, it wasn’t just a hot meal that arrived at their door — it was a message that someone cared, that they were not alone, and that they mattered.
Moments like these remind us that Christmas is not about perfection, presents, or polished tables. It’s about people. It’s about community. It’s about showing up for one another — especially when it matters most.
