Local Bands Bring the House Down at Alice Cross Centre Fundraiser

Ain’t Misbehavin’

On the evening of March 22nd, the Alice Cross Centre transformed into a vibrant music venue, showcasing the incredible talent of three local bands and raising an impressive £950 for the Alice Cross Centre.

The sold-out event attracted 70 music enthusiasts who were treated to an electrifying night of diverse musical styles. The line-up featured three phenomenal local bands, each bringing their unique sound and energy to the stage.

Ain’t Misbehavin’ kicked off the evening with their infectious Swing and Gypsy Jazz, delighting the crowd with their musical camaraderie and joyful performance. The band, known for their appearances at local events, once again proved why they’re a crowd favourite.

Following them, Celtic Dawn brought the house to its feet with their high-energy traditional Irish music. The dynamic blend of bodhran, fiddle, guitars, and vocals had audience members clapping, stomping, and fully immersed in the lively Celtic rhythms.

The night concluded with Mother’s Ruin, whose eclectic folk rock set spanning traditional folk, Americana, and Cajun styles ensured the energy remained high until the very last note.

“We are overwhelmed by the community’s support,” said Centre Manager, Peta Howell. “Raising £950 in one night is a testament to the power of local music and community spirit.”

The event not only provided a memorable evening of entertainment but also significantly contributed to supporting the Alice Cross Centre’s ongoing community programmes.
