The Alice Cross Centre was filled with music, glamour and plenty of diva attitude on the evening of Saturday the 19th Of September as four fabulous performers took to the stage for our spectacular Diva Fever night.
Headlining the show were Peta and Jenny, who performed a packed programme celebrating some of the greatest divas of the past and present. The audience was treated to songs made famous by legendary performers including Barbra Streisand, Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Bassey, Cher, Judy Garland, Dolly Parton and many more.
Opera singer Ilana Jacobs brought elegance and a touch of musical-theatre magic to the evening with her delightful performance of “I Could Have Danced All Night.” Special guest Phoenix Blue turned up the heat with two wonderfully sultry and captivating performances, bringing a different kind of diva energy to the stage.
Among the laughter, sequins and showstopping songs were three heartfelt tributes to Dolly Parton, Bonnie Tyler and Tim Curry, all of whom we sadly lost this summer. Their extraordinary talent, individuality and influence were celebrated through the music they left behind.
The evening ended in suitably outrageous style when Peta and Jenny were joined by Phoenix for a fantastic finale of “Time Warp.” The performance had the audience singing, dancing and doing that famous jump to the left!
Diva Fever was a joyful celebration of music, women, individuality and the freedom to embrace your inner diva. Thank you to our four wonderful performers, everyone who helped behind the scenes and our fabulous audience for making the evening such a memorable one.
At the Alice Cross Centre, we firmly believe that everyone has an inner diva. It just takes the right song, a little sparkle and a spotlight to bring them out!
