A Fundraising Quilt for The Alice Cross Centre

A Fundraising Quilt for The Alice Cross Centre

This quilt is so much more than fabric and thread, it is memory, love, and time stitched gently together.

Handmade by The Quilters Tea Party, this one-of-a-kind quilt was created especially to support The Alice Cross Centre.

Each square is crafted from a cherished collection of fabrics that once belonged to a much-loved woman who is no longer with us. Her fabrics, saved and treasured, have been given new life – transformed into something that will continue to give comfort and support, which is at the core of The Alice Cross Centre’s mission.

Each member of the group was gifted some of this fabric and invited to create a square in their own way. Each block is unique, carrying the maker’s personality, care, and creativity. When sewn together, these individual pieces became a powerful whole – a quilt that holds friendship, remembrance, and generosity within every stitch.

This quilt tells a quiet but profound story: of hands working together, of love carried forward, and of a community supporting the place that brings them together.

We  accepting sealed bids for this quilt to raise vital funds for The Alice Cross

Centre, but for now we are delighted to share it with our community.

As you admire it, you are already part of its story – one of kindness, generosity, and care that will help ensure the centre remains a place of warmth and connection for years to come.

The Alice Cross Centre is a registered non-profit community hub dedicated to improving wellbeing, building social connections, and supporting health through activities, meals, events and opportunities for everyone to belong, be active, and feel included.

This magnificent work of art is on display in the window at The Makery @ TAAG (Northumberland Place, Teignmouth) now until the 14th of March.  You can place your sealed bids (reserve of £100) in our box at the community display at TAAG or in the office at the centre.
