As Volunteers Week 2026 draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to say something very simple but very important:
THANK YOU.
The Alice Cross Centre would not be what it is without our volunteers. Every meal delivered, every activity supported, every conversation shared over a cup of tea, every smile offered to someone who needed it – all of these moments are made possible by the generosity, kindness and dedication of the people who give their time to our community.
This year has been another busy one at the Centre. From meal deliveries and community lunches to friendship groups, coffee mornings, support groups, activities and special events, our volunteers have been at the heart of everything we do. They are often the first friendly face someone sees during the day and, for many people, an important source of connection, reassurance and support.
There is no doubt the volunteers of The Alice Cross Centre are so deserving of the Mayor’s Recognition Award by Teignmouth Town Council in March 2026, recognising our volunteers outstanding contribution to the local community.
The award recognised the dedication, compassion and commitment shown by our volunteers in supporting residents across Teignmouth and the surrounding area.
This week, and every week we appreciate you, and would be completely lost without every single one of you!
To every volunteer, past and present: thank you for your time, your compassion and your commitment. You help make the Alice Cross Centre a place where people feel supported, included and connected.
